Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

So my website is down again.
The bandwidth limit has been exceeded and there's nothing I can do at the moment because I am already at the highest amount (10GB).
I am not going to change hosts because I think my host is great.
The thing I would have to do is rebuild the complete website and upload all the images elsewhere (photobucket/imageshack).
This would take me hours though so I don't think I will do that.

Maybe I will just make a new layout and rebuild the site from there, but at the moment I have no inspiration to open up Photoshop.
In the meantime you can visit the link below where I uploaded most of the latest scans and textures.

A way to lessen bandwidth usage is to use a CMS; there are some who - unlike Wordpress or FanUpdate - don't need a MySQL database. Personally, I recommend FusionNews or Cutenews (both are being developped again).

I like Cutenews but isn't it only for updates?

I think the reason why the bandwidth keeps exceeding is because the images have to load from the same server all the time.

I used FusionNews (and Cutenews, which is too loaded to spam, so I switched to FusionNews) to manages both my index page - the blog/updates entries - and all my resources pages. ^.^

I am really liking your recent uploads. I have a batch of avatars slated for uploading that feature your resources (I will of course credit you!), so when they are posted I will link them to you so you can have a look.

I have been busy over the past few weeks but things are now settling down into a routine, giving me a little time to do some graphicking. My latest project was to create a logo for my basketball team, which I enjoyed doing.

So, how have you been and what have you been getting up to?
